Dünya Prechool has been participating ‘Spring Day in Europe’ activities from Turkey since 2003 which is prepared by the European Community.

Dünya Preschool is awarded a certificate by the European Community for participating “Spring Day in Europe” every year.

Dünya kids celebrate Spring Day with their European friends.They have been representing Turkey with a great success and we are very proud of them!

Dünya Kids and the “Spring Day in Europe” 2008

• Dünya kids celebrated “Spring Day in Europe” this year.The theme for “Spring Day in Europe” 2008  is “The Europen Year of Intercultural Dialogue” with the motto: “Bridging cultures through dialogue”.Children learned about the other countries and their cultures.They colored the flags of different countries and motivated and couraged to learn more about the different cultures.

We had also wonderful “Spring Day in Europe” events in the previous years!

• We have had video-conference connections with England,France and Italy..
• We had nearly 40 students participating the connections, some from our school and some guest students from other schools. We exchanged ideas with other European countries on the issues of democracy, tolerance, human rights and of course peace.
• At the end of the video conference connections with Italy and Bati College, our pupils sang the song `We Are The World` with the pupils of Bati Kindergarten in the national costumes of some European people! Also they waved the flags of that countries. We organized an activity called `European Painting`.
• Each group represented one European Country and decorated the maps of that country with mosaic pieces and then painted them. Also we asked our pupils to say their own wishes for their future in Europe. In the evening we exhibited the maps of European countries that were done by the pupils and also traditional costumes of European countries. This exhibition was for parents.
• After this exhibition we organized an European Party and Sport Contest in the evening with our pupils,teachers and parents. Each pupil represented a different European Country in traditional costumes. We all danced. Parents brought traditional recipes and national symbolic materials of European countries. Also we had debates on the future of Europe with our teachers and parents.
• Our aim was to give the gist that what we want not only in Europe but through all the world is peace. With the Italian group we taught each other some words which we consider are the most important words for humanity nowadays.
  That is "Peace and Love", in Italian "Pace ed Amore", in Turkish "Baris ve Sevgi". At the end of the sessions the students from Bati Kindergarden and Dünya Kindergarden performed for us singing the song "We are the world" in the national costumes of the European peoples also waving their flags.  

We have a wonderful Spring Day in Europe every year!We all wish happiness, joy and peace for the whole world.
